Capacity Building and Community Development

Here is a course for those individuals that seek to achieve proficiency in their role in laterally funded entities and private sector consulting firms or non-governmental organizations, called (NGOs) that offer capacity building services. Capacity Building in its essence means the ability of individuals, institutions and societies to perform functions, solve problems, set and achieve objectives in a sustainable manner". The center has designed a program to help individuals or organizations attain proficiency in developing and strengthening the skills, instincts, abilities, processes and resources that organizations and communities need to survive, adapt, and thrive in the fast-changing world.
For organizations the benefit is improved governance, leadership, mission and strategy, administration, program development and implementation, fundraising and income generation, diversity, partnerships and collaboration, evaluation, advocacy and policy change, marketing, positioning and planning. For individuals, capacity building may relate to leadership development, advocacy skills, training/speaking abilities, technical skills, organizing skills, and other areas of personal and professional development. The course can be tailored to suit specific organizations.
